A virtual office in Hyderabad gives you a Telangana GSTIN, which starts with state code 36 and covers every place of business you hold in Telangana. You need it when goods or services are supplied from Telangana and you have no premises there. ComplyLocal's Telangana VPOB costs ₹12,000 plus GST, the lowest of its fees for Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana and West Bengal.
Two things catch out sellers from the north. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are separate GST states, and Telangana files quarterly returns on a different date from Delhi or Haryana. Both are covered below, along with the documents a Hyderabad provider should hand you.

Telangana or Andhra Pradesh: check the state first
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana became separate states in 2014, and GST treats them as two registrations. A Telangana GSTIN starts with 36; an Andhra Pradesh GSTIN starts with 37.
This matters when a marketplace assigns you a fulfilment centre described as serving "Hyderabad" or "south India". Read the full address on your seller panel. A warehouse in Telangana goes on a Telangana GSTIN; one across the border in Andhra Pradesh needs an Andhra Pradesh registration, and a Hyderabad virtual office will not help with it.
If you are expanding into both Karnataka and Telangana, each needs its own registration and address; the Karnataka side is covered in our guide to a virtual office in Bengaluru.
Does it matter where in Hyderabad the address is?
Not for GST. An address in HITEC City, Gachibowli, Madhapur, Begumpet or Secunderabad produces the same Telangana GSTIN, the same tax and the same return dates. What changes is the jurisdiction that processes the file and the office an officer would visit from.
Business centres in HITEC City and Gachibowli can host many registrations at one address. There is no legal limit on that, and the Kerala advance ruling in Spacelance Office Solutions (2019) accepted separate registrations at a shared workspace where each business has a distinct, identifiable unit. Make sure your agreement names yours; the position is set out in two GST registrations at the same address.
Documents for a Hyderabad VPOB application
From | Documents |
|---|---|
The provider | Agreement in your legal name naming a specific unit; one premises proof (TGSPDCL electricity bill or GHMC property tax receipt); owner's NOC permitting GST registration; owner's identity proof if the agreement is not registered |
You | PAN of the business; constitution proof; photograph, Aadhaar and PAN of the authorised signatory and promoters or partners; authorisation letter or board resolution |
TSSPDCL or TGSPDCL on the bill
Telangana's southern power distribution company now uses the TGSPDCL name; older bills and documents show TSSPDCL. Both refer to the same supplier, so either is a valid premises proof under CBIC Instruction No. 03/2025-GST. What decides acceptance is that the bill is current and its address matches the agreement and your application word for word.
How a Hyderabad VPOB registration runs
Confirm the warehouse or office address is in Telangana, not Andhra Pradesh.
Collect the agreement, TGSPDCL bill or GHMC receipt and NOC, and match the three addresses exactly.
File REG-01 with the Hyderabad VPOB as your principal place of business.
Complete Aadhaar authentication, or book the GST Suvidha Kendra appointment if the email asks for it.
If a REG-03 query arrives, file the REG-04 reply within seven working days.
Once approved, put up the name board with your GSTIN and display the certificate at the Hyderabad address (Rule 18).
Add the Telangana fulfilment centre as an additional place of business before the first stock transfer.
Telangana applicants flagged by the portal have gone for biometric Aadhaar authentication at a GST Suvidha Kendra since 5 October 2024. The ARN is generated only after that visit, and a proprietor or partner attends in Telangana, so a seller from Delhi or Jaipur should plan a trip to Hyderabad if the email arrives. Under Instruction No. 03/2025-GST, approval is due in 7 working days, or 30 days with physical verification; a VPOB-backed registration usually completes in 15 to 25 working days.
Telangana dates and taxes after approval
Rule | What it means if your home GSTIN is in north India |
|---|---|
Quarterly GSTR-3B by the 22nd | Telangana is in the 22nd group (Notification No. 82/2020-Central Tax); Delhi, Haryana, UP and Rajasthan file by the 24th, so you now track two dates |
Profession tax | Telangana levies it under its 1987 Act; check whether your entity or turnover needs an enrolment certificate, at up to ₹2,500 a year |
E-way bill within Telangana | Needed above ₹50,000 |
Stock transfers from your home state | Interstate: tax invoice with IGST from your home GSTIN and an e-way bill above ₹50,000 |
Quiet months | File nil returns on the Telangana GSTIN; late nil returns cost ₹20 a day each, up to ₹500 |
Profession tax is easy to miss for sellers from Delhi, Haryana or Uttar Pradesh, because none of those states levies it.
Service businesses and a Hyderabad address
A software or consulting firm based elsewhere does not need a Telangana GSTIN to bill Hyderabad clients. For services to registered businesses, the place of supply is the client's location under Section 12(2) of the IGST Act, so you invoice from your home GSTIN with IGST.
Telangana registration becomes necessary when the service is supplied from Telangana, for example by a team working there. If that team works from an office you have leased, register that office through standard GST registration in Hyderabad rather than a virtual address.
Rule 14B and Telangana warehouses
Rule 14B, recommended by the 57th GST Council on 8 October 2026, would let a small marketplace-only goods seller declare the operator's Telangana warehouse as its principal place of business, with the operator's consent, if it passes on input tax credit of no more than ₹2.5 lakh a month. It had not been notified as of 28 October 2026. Who should wait and who should not is covered in Rule 14B or a virtual office.
ComplyLocal's Telangana VPOB fee and what it covers
ComplyLocal Consultants, a GST firm based in Rohtak, Haryana, arranges VPOB (virtual place of business) addresses in Telangana, including Hyderabad, for sellers and service businesses that need a Telangana GSTIN. The fee is ₹12,000 plus 18% GST, or ₹14,160 in total, and GST registration has no government fee.
The Telangana fee pays for a Hyderabad unit named in an agreement in your legal name, the owner's NOC, a current TGSPDCL bill or GHMC receipt, name board support, visit coordination, the REG-01 filing and REG-03 replies. Expect 15 to 25 working days; a biometric summons adds a trip to Hyderabad.
Our view: add the 22nd to your calendar on the day the Telangana GSTIN arrives. Copy a north Indian return calendar across and you file the Telangana quarterly return two days late, with the late fee running from the 23rd.
