What is a Class 3 DSC?

A Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate is the highest-assurance digital signature recognized by the Controller of Certifying Authorities under MeitY, and the only DSC class issued in India since January 2021 after Class 2 was discontinued.

It is used to authenticate individuals, directors, partners and authorised signatories on government and corporate portals where digital signing is accepted.

Class 3 DSC can be issued as Signing-only or Sign+Encrypt combo. Tendering and encrypted bid portals generally need the combo version.
