A Digital Signature Certificate for company registration is a Class 3 DSC issued in the name of each proposed director and authorized signatory, used to digitally sign SPICe+ incorporation forms on the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) portal under the Companies Act 2013.
MCA incorporation is fully electronic, so proposed directors and designated partners need DSCs before forms can be signed and submitted.
The same DSC can often be used later for ROC filings, director KYC, annual returns and other MCA authentication needs.
Incorporation timelines often depend on having director DSCs ready before documents are finalized.
